Last year I found out about the Liugui Security Path – 六龜警備道, and I’ve been wanting to hike it ever since. At over 53 kilometers in total distance it’s said to take 6~8 days to complete. I only had two days, so my plan was to hike the portion from Tengzhih to its end near Maolin village.

A couple weeks back I hiked BaCengBaMoShan 巴層巴墨山 and really enjoyed the area, especially the watermelon river. While researching that hike I learned of WaiMaLiBaShan 外麻里巴山. It didn’t look particularly interesting, but I thought it would give me the chance to go back and see the watermelons before they were gone.

LiLongShan is a peak I saw when I visited BaCengBaMoShan 巴層巴墨山 the week prior. I knew nothing about it, but I had to climb it. As it turns out, it was a relatively easy hike AND it is also one of the XiaoBaiYue (小百岳) according to this list. I recommend it to anyone.

Deep within the mountains on the Baolai riverbed you’ll find two popular hot springs, Qikeng and Shikeng (七坑 & 十坑). Situated roughly between the hot springs is the mountain HsiaoTienYuan – 小田原. At 1335 meters, I thought I would have plenty of time to make it to the top and back if I camped overnight and started early. Boy was I wrong…

BeiHuLuShan is a nice hike for anyone looking to do something that isn’t too easy but not too hard. There are ropes, ribbon markers, and a trail that is easy to follow.
